About: Keep your dog's teeth tarter free with this Stainless Steel Double Ended Tooth Scraper and Inspection Mirror. Sleeve included for storage. Feeding dry food, providing crunchy treats and allowing the regular supervised chewing of American Chew Treats will allow the passive cleaning of your dog's teeth. Actively brushing your dog's teeth will keep your best friend's dental health in check. Routine exam of your dog's teeth and removal of tarter with this tooth scraper can save added veterinarian expenses. Brushing your dog's teeth is just one part of the oral care regime. If your dog already shows signs of advanced gum disease; Red, Swollen or Bleeding Gums, Gum Erosion or Putrid Smell Emitting from his mouth, your dog should see a veterinarian immediately.

First Impression: Since we rescued Ocean with a slew of dental issues, dog dental health has really been a big concern of mine. I was happy to receive a scaler along with a dental mirror to use along with our regular brushing routine and daily chew time. Even though Ocean is already missing teeth, she still gets chews to help clean her remaining teeth and to keep her jaw healthy. The construction of these product is solid, I see no cause to be concerned about them bending and breaking, or having a flaky finish of any kind.

My Thoughts: I found both the scaler and the mirror to be easy to use. Of course when scaling your own dogs teeth you must be careful not to nick the gums or you could cause the bacteria you are scraping away from the teeth to be immediately absorbed into the bloodstream. I was very careful and avoided the gumline until I felt comfortable with my motions to get that close with such a sharp object. I was able to scrape away a good amount of tartar buildup on Oceans remaining teeth with great ease. Even though we brush daily, brushing and chews are simply not enough to remove such strong buildup. I'm very happy with the performance of these dog dental tools, and encourage any careful dog owner to purchase a set of their own to keep on hand.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
